Western Colorado Triathlon offers two challenging course options: Race date Saturday 9/17/11. Olympic distance - 1500m swim, 24 mile bike and a 10k trail run or a Sprint distance 750m swim, 15 mile bike, and a 5k trail run. Race location - Highline State Park in Loma, CO. Start time 8:00 AM for Olympic and 8:05 AM for Sprint. This venue provides a very scenic backdrop of the Book Cliff Mountains and the Colorado National Monument. Swim - takes place in the Highline State Park Reservoir, usually wetsuit legal. Bike - challenging rolling course, no major climbs. Trail Run - Double and Single Track trail run with rolling hills, all inside the state park. Registration is open!

USAT Sanctioning

This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned race. You must be a member and have your membership card with you or pay a one-day event fee of $10 via online registration. Someone else may not pick up your packet for you.

RELAY TEAMS

Please show up together, we cannot release all of your race packets to just one member. We must also see ALL I.D.’s, and all must either pay the $10.00 USAT fee OR be USAT members, and show proof thereof.

La Quinta Inn - You must book by 8/13 to receive special rate. Cancellations must be made by 8/30 to avoid penalty. Each room has a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Continental breakfast is included with room.

Campsites are available – First come first serve. BOOK EARLY! The park has PAY SHOWERS available and all spots are all closely located to the start/finish area (approx. 50-150 yards). Click here to book your camp space today!

Park Information

Please note that the race occurs inside a State Park and they will be charging $2 per vehicle to park for race day.

Body Markings

ALL participants must be body marked prior to the start of the race. Please come to the registration area at Highline State Park between 6:45 AM - 7:30 AM to be marked and pick up your chip.

Awards/Race Shirts

The Western Colorado Triathlon will be doing age group awards. We have great sponsors that will be contributing to these gift packs. Winner Gift Packs will be available post event for pick up at Race Results table.

Each participant will receive a dri-fit race shirt and post event lunch provided by Einstein Bros Bagels.

Directions

Drive west on I-70 west from Grand Junction to Loma Exit, then north onto Colorado Highway 139 for six miles to Q Road. Go west on Q road for 1.2 miles, turn north onto 11.8 Road for one mile to the park entrance. 970.858.7208

Payment/Refund Policies

No refunds will be allowed for any Ascent Productions, Inc events (hereafter "API"), regardless of the reasons. If an athlete registers for any API event and cannot attend due to illness, injuries or personal reasons your registration fee will not be refunded, but rather you will be given a partial discount for the same event for the following year. Weather Policy

This is a rain or shine event. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather.
